Ladakh Festivals Tour

Destinations : Delhi - Leh - Hemis (Festival) - Sumur (Nubra Valley ) - Leh - Uletokpo - Lamayuru - Leh
Duration : 12 Nights / 13 Days


Day 01 Arrive Delhi On arrival at Delhi airport , our representative will meet you to pick you up and transfer to your hotel. Rest of the day is at your leisure. Stay overnight at the hotel in Delhi.

Day 02 Delhi After breakfast first you will visit old Delhi. The Raj Ghat, Red fort & Jama Masjid are important places to visit, you may also visit Chandni Chowk, spice market etc. Later on proceed to visit the New Delhi. The Qutub Minar, tallest stone tower in India, imposing India Gate and the Rastrapathi Bhawan, Laxmi Narayan Temple, Lotus Temple and, newly built Akshardham temple are of much significance. By evening return to your hotel for overnight stay.

Day 03 : Delhi/Leh (Flight)  Early morning transfer to domestic airport in time to board flight for Leh (3500 M). Leh is situated on the banks of the river Indus. Arrive and transfer to hotel. Rest of the day free to acclimatize to high altitude and low oxygen levels in Leh. Dinner and overnight in hotel.

Day 04 : Leh Sight seeing  Start day 02 of the Hemis Monastery Festival tour with a sightseeing tour of Shey and Thiksey. Thiksey Gompa is one of the largest and architecturally the most impressive Gompas and is about 19 kilometers away from Leh. Whereas, Hemis is the wealthiest and one of the biggest and the best known Gompas of Ladakh and is 40 kilometers away from Leh. On return visit Tibetan Refugee Center. Overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 05: Hemis Festival Enjoy the famous Hemis Monastery Festival on June 25th. . Celebrated on tenth day of the Tibetan lunar month, Hemis Monastery is a two-day festival that celebrates the birthday of Padmasambhava (Guru Rimpoche) the founder of Tibetan Buddhism. Overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 06 : Leh - Sumur (Nubra Valley) Proceed to Nubra Valley via the World Highest Motorable road (5602 Mts) Khardungla pass on June 26th. Khardungla is located in the Ladakh region of Jammu and Kashmir and is a high mountain pass situated just 37 kilometer by road from Leh. On arrival, check in at The Silk Route Cottage. Evening free for leisure. Overnight stay at The Silk Route Cottage

Day 07 : Nubra Sightseeing  Enjoy your day by going on a sightseeing tour of Nubra on 27th June. Visit the White Sand Dunes at Hunder and enjoy the camel ride. Also visit places like Hunder and Diskit Monastries. Founded by Lama Sherab Zangpoof Stod, Diskit Monastery houses about 100 monks. Trek your way to Samstaling Monastery in the evening. Overnight stay at the Silk Route Cottage.

Day 08 : Sumur to Leh Day 06 of the Hemis Monastery Festival Tour begins with a drive to Leh via Khardungla pass the World Highest Motorable road. Explore the famous Leh bazaar for souvenir in the evening. Also visit Leh Jokhang or Leh Mosque by foot. Overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 09 : Leh Sight Seeing On day 07, go on a full day sightseeing of Leh and visit palces like Phyang, Spituk monastery and Stok Palace and museum. On return visit the Tibetan Refugee Center. Overnight stay at the hotel at Leh.
Day 10:  Leh to Uletokpo Drive from Leh to Uleytokpo and enroute visit Alchi monastery on June 30th. Post lunch walk to the beautiful village of Mangyu. Overnight stay at Uleytokpo camps.

Day 11: Excursion to Lamayuru - Uletokpo Morning excursion to Lamayuru Monastery. Later in the afternoon visit the Rizong monastery and Chulichan nunnery. Overnight stay at the Uleytokpo camps.

Day 12: Uletokpo to Leh  Drive back to Leh on day 10 of the Hemis Monastery Festival and enroute visit Likir monastery. Overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 13: Departure On 03rd July, transfer to Leh airport to board flight for the onward destination
